Texas - One of three white men charged with dragging a black man to his death in 1998 was convicted of capital murder in Bryan, Texas, yesterday.
Lawrence Russell Brewer (32), the second of three suspects to be tried for the murder of James Byrd Jr, showed no emotion when the jury passed sentence Brewer faces life in jail or death by lethal injection for chaining Byrd to the bumper of a pick-up truck that dragged him to his death June 7th, 1998 in Jasper, Texas.
