Gardai are searching the River Moy near Foxford, Co Mayo for the male companion of a woman whose body was found by a team of searchers yesterday.
The body of the 27-year-old woman was taken to Mayo General Hospital yesterday.
She is understood to have been socialising with the missing man in a local pub on Thursday.
A spokeswoman said gardai were treating the man's disappearance as a missing person and are carrying out a search of the river as part of the investigation.
