A search resumed this morning for an 82-year-old Limerick woman who has been missing for more than two days.

Widowed mother-of-seven Mrs Norah King failed to return to her home in Co Limerick on Thursday night after taking a bicycle ride to visit a friend.

Gardai and a mountain rescue team along with local people were taking part in the search operation for the woman, who could be suffering from memory loss.

Mrs King's bike was found in a ditch some miles from her home and she never arrived at the friend's house.

Gardai described the missing woman as "very agile", but said there were concerns for her safety.
