The SDLP has held a private one-day conference to debate a root-and-branch overhaul of its party structures in Belfast. About 250 delegates attended the event, which followed the leaking of an internal report which criticised the party's "old and tired" image. The party leader, Mr John Hume, delivered the keynote speech.
