Scientists from nine European universities are in Ireland to carry out stratosphere experiments. The STREAM III experiments are taking place in Shannon, Co Clare. The co ordinator, Mr Bert Scheeren, from the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, said: "The main project objectives are to examine the atmosphere motion linking processes associated with frontal systems which are particularly strong over the Irish west coast."
