Scientist wins research prize

A senior physicist at the Dublin School for Advanced Studies has won an international prize for his research

A senior physicist at the Dublin School for Advanced Studies has won an international prize for his research. Prof Lochlainn O Raifeartaigh of the School of Theoretical Physics will be presented with the Wigner Medal at an international conference in Russia in July.

Prof O Raifeartaigh won the prize for his work on aspects of relativity theory and, as described in his citation, "pioneering contributions" to particle physics.
