Brighton - Russia must be involved in improving Europe's common defence against extremists following last month's attacks on the US, the German Chancellor, Mr Gerhard Schr÷der, said yesterday.
Mr Schr÷der, in Britain as a guest of the British Prime Minister, Mr Blair, at his Labour Party's annual conference, said it was vital for EU members to promote closer co-operation with Moscow.
