The RUC says a fire at a Catholic primary school in Co Antrim was started deliberately. The assembly hall at St Olcan's Primary School, Armoy, was damaged in the fire and classrooms and offices sustained smoke damage. The alarm was raised in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Northern Ireland's Minister of Education, Mr Martin McGuinness, expressed concern about the incident.

"Attacks of this kind are totally pointless and a dreadful occurrence for teachers, pupils and parents," he said.
