Mr Tony Blair said today eurosceptics were being "foolish" if they thought Britain could run away from the reality of the single European currency.

"Of course the euro is now a reality and I think the idea that we can run away from it or hide our head in the sand and pretend it does not exist would be very foolish," Mr Blair said this morning as he travelled to Bangladesh.
