SEOUL - The sacked South Korean defence minister, Mr Lee Yang ho, yesterday answered a summons by prosecutors investigating a defence procurement bribe scandal involving arms dealers and the giant Daewoo business group.

He was summoned after prosecutors questioned his wife on charges that she had passed diamonds to the daughter of jailed former president, Roh Tae Woo, in 1992, asking the daughter to lobby for her husband's promotion.
