RUC man to lead UN Kosovo force

A senior RUC officer is to become commander of the United Nations policing operation in Kosovo.

A senior RUC officer is to become commander of the United Nations policing operation in Kosovo.

Assistant Chief Constable Chris Albiston (47), who currently holds the operational command of the RUC's North region, will take up his yearlong posting in January.

He will replace a Danish officer, Mr Sven Frederikson, who has been in Kosovo since the establishment of the UN International Police in the summer of 1999 following the Kosovo conflict.
