PEOPLE were injured and the RUC attacked when a row broke out between Glasgow Rangers football fans and local Catholic residents in Rasharkin village, Co Derry, on Saturday.

Trouble began after a busload of people entered a Catholic estate and attacked two men, said Mr Charlie O'Kane, an SDLP councillor. The two men had done nothing to provoke the attack, he claimed. Later masked youths attacked a Protestant owned bar. When RUC officers arrived, they too were attacked.
