RUC officers were attacked as they came to the aid of a teenager shot in a paramilitary-style assault in west Belfast last night.
Youths pelted officers with fireworks and stones when they arrived at the scene of the shooting at Glenalina Gardens in Ballymurphy. The 19-year-old man had been shot both ankles. He was taken to hospital where his condition was described as comfortable.
