RTE has said it is concerned at a proposed change in channel allocation for Network 2 viewers who are subscribers to CMI cable systems in Co Kildare and other areas. RTE is especially concerned that it might cause annoyance to those watching the All-Ireland football final on September 27th.

RTE said while it understood that channel allocation was necessary to accommodate increased services, as TV3 goes on air next Sunday, it could not see "any logical or technical explanation for this unwarranted disruption to our service".
