Manchester United captain Roy Keane is to stand trial early next year for an alleged assault on a 16-year-old boy.

Manchester United captain Roy Keane is to stand trial early next year for an alleged assault on a 16-year-old boy.

Keane, who denies the charge, will appear at Trafford Magistrates Court at the end of February. The 33-year-old is alleged to have clashed with the youth near his home in the affluent Manchester suburb of Hale, on Saturday, September 4th. The Republic of Ireland midfielder, who was not present at yesterday's hearing, had his bail extended.
