Romania's leading try-scorer, Gabriel Brezoianu, is a major doubt for Saturday's World Cup clash with Ireland after spraining his ankle.
Brezoianu was expected to be named on the wing for the clash in Gosford but has been receiving regular treatment since sustaining the injury during training.
A final decision on his fitness will be made tomorrow, with the Romanians set to announce their side on Thursday.
