The churches should say publicly they accept that there should be some restructuring of the education system to meet the needs of citizens who do not want denominational schools, a seminar was told last night. Mr David Alvey, of the Campaign to Separate Church and State, said that in return the "secular lobby" should acknowledge that the ethos of denominational schools should be respected where parents say they want them.
