Dublin - Latin America Week organisers have condemned the killing of a human rights activist in the Colombian town of Segovia last week, saying Mr Ramiro Zapata was the last surviving member of the Human Rights Committee of Segovia to continue living there after most of the committee fled in 1997 after the killing of activists by right-wing death squads. "The US government is about to give an extra military aid package to the Colombian army, the very people who are behind the death squads," said Mr Gearoid O Loinsigh of Latin America Week.
