The Court of Criminal Appeal has quashed the conviction and ordered a retrial of a Dublin man accused of murdering one of his friends and stabbing another in the heart.

Martin Toland (35) was jailed for life in January last year after being found guilty of the murder of Alan Nolan on September 8th, 2007. Toland, of Walkinstown Park, received a seven-year term on a count of recklessly or intentionally causing serious harm to James Carroll (31) on the same date.
