The snow falls which hit the north and east of the country last night have turned to rain as the latest cold snap comes to an end.
A Met Eireann spokesman told ireland.com: "There was snow last night and early this morning across Ulster, Connacht and the north midlands. There was up to a couple of centimetres in some places and some frost around too. But the threat is on its way out now and the snow has turned to rain."
He added that the outlook is "wet and windy but not too wintery and no frost is forecast for tonight."
The AA reports that the rain has caused slushy and slippery roads and driving conditions can be hazardous in affected areas.
There still may be icy patches on high ground such as across the Sally Gap and Wicklow Gap.
