Washington - The US House of Representatives yesterday agreed to commit the United States to deployment of a national missile defence system, one day after the Senate passed a similar measure.

Heeding warnings that the United States faces a growing threat of missile attack, the house approved a one-line statement making it national policy to put in place a system to defend against incoming missiles.
