Refuse collection dispute is settled

The refuse collection strike threatened for south County Dublin has been averted and service on the restructured routes will start today. Initially, the workers objected to the introduction of "wheelie bins" on their routes. But on Saturday they agreed to accept the bins and new work practices after a offer of improved terms.
