The Government has asked the Red Cross to administer its humanitarian aid scheme following the recent floods. The organisation will shortly place newspaper advertisements seeking applications for assistance, a Government spokesman said yesterday.
The scheme is designed to provide relief of hardship caused to individuals rather than to compensate for commercial or other loss.
