Tipperary 2-15 Cork 0-09:Tipperary ran out 12 point winners over Gerald McCarthy's fourth string Cork side in last night's NHL Division One clash at Semple Stadium in Thurles.

The Rebels trailed by just three points at the break (0-07 to 0-04) but were overrun in the second half, thanks largely to Tipp goals from John O'Brien and full-forward Patrick Maher.

Seven of Cork’s nine points were racked up by midfielder Barry Johnson, whose accuracy from the deadball was crucial, as it was in the nine point defeat to Dublin last week.

With the score level at four points a each at halftime, goals from James Sherry stuck first and Daniel Coyle, the latter’s from the penalty spot, proved the difference for Fermanagh.

Goalkeeper David Gallagher was one of three Meath player’s yellow-carded btu despite their numerical disadvantage the Royals were kept in the game by Nigel Crawford.
