Reading said today they have agreed a fee with the administrators of Wimbledon for Republic of Ireland striker David Connolly.
The 26-year-old struck 24 goals last season despite his appearances being restricted by injuries, but financial worries could force him out of Wimbledon.
Reading chief executive Nigel Howe told his club's official website: "We've spoken to Wimbledon's administrators and have agreed a fee so the initial bit is done.
"We are now trying to arrange a meeting with his agent to find some common ground over his salary."
