Rome - Cuban vice-president Raul Castro, younger brother of President Fidel Castro, has made an unexpected stop in Rome ahead of Pope John Paul's visit to Cuba next month. The Vatican said Mr Castro (66) was in Rome on a private visit and had asked to see some parts of the Holy See.
