A Siberian bird is making a very rare appearance in Ireland, possibly blown here by the recent bad weather. The bird - a Ross's Gull - has been seen in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, and, last Sunday, at Bullock Harbour in nearby Dalkey. It is the first recorded appearance in Dublin of the gull, which has long white wings and a rose tinted body. Birdwatchers say it will become more pink as it acquires its summer plumage.
