Cricket:Ireland's hopes of getting some more game time ahead of next Thursday's clash with England at Stormont were scuppered in Aberdeen today as the second of their One-Day Internationals against Scotland was abandoned due to an unsafe outfield.

Phil Simmons’s side had been outstanding in the field on Saturday, bowling Scotland out for just 109 to claim a 96-run win at Mannonfield. But overnight rain coupled with a series of showers this morning saw the game called off shortly after 1.30pm.
