Raid on Limerick supermarket investigated

Gardaí in Co Limerick are today investigating an armed raid on a supermarket in the village of Hospital last night.

Two men in balaclavas, one armed with a handgun and the other with a hatchet, smashed in the front door andconfronted a staff member at 9.20 p.m.

They took a quantity of cashandcheques and left the scene in a car towards the village of Knocklong.

No one was injured in the raid.
