An British military jet has crashed into the River Humber near Brough in East Yorkshire.

Police say they received a call from the public at 2.50 p.m. saying the RAF Tornado had crashed.

A spokeswoman said two people had been rescued from the river by the Coastguard after ejecting from the plane.

The spokeswoman said the two are now in ambulances, but said she didn't know their condition.

It is believed the plane was from RAF Marham in Norfolk.
