Sheffield United midfielder Alan Quinn was the Republic's only injury casualty over the weekend, the Dubliner limping out of his club's 2-1 win over Burnley eight minutes from time after scoring the game's opening goal and setting up the second.

Brian Kerr made no announcement regarding a replacement in the squad for the World Cup qualifier against Israel in Tel Aviv on Saturday but with both Steven Reid and Rory Delap on standby since the squad was named last week, it is likely the manager will draft one of the pair in ahead of tomorrow's first training session at Portmarnock, Co Dublin.

Quinn's injury aside, it was a fairly good weekend for Kerr, with almost all his regular starters playing prominent roles for their Premiership clubs and none suffering any significant injury.
