Fifty years after the release of John Ford's The Quiet Man - the movie that put the West of Ireland on the map - there's a healthy market in "Quiet Man" memorabilia.

This original three-sheet poster, left, for instance, is valued at around €3,500. It will be on sale tomorrow, October 6th, at an antiques fair in the Mansion House.

The fair is the first to be held at the Mansion House in almost eight years and it looks like being a big event. Fifty dealers from all over the country will have stands selling a huge range of items from furniture, including chests, cabinets, chairs and side tables to jewellery, curios, textiles, paintings and prints, coins and medals.

The fair will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the admission charge of €4 will include an hour's parking in the Dawson Street car-park behind the Mansion House.
