London - Britain's Queen Mother yesterday left her London home for a holiday in a Scottish castle, three days after her 101st birthday and less than a week after undergoing an emergency blood transfusion in hospital for anaemia.

Britain's oldest royal smiled and waved at more than 200 well-wishers as she left Clarence House in her chauffeur-driven car, escorted by four police motor cyclists.
