Cape Town - South African heart specialists yesterday performed a seven-hour-long open heart operation on a Jack Russell puppy suffering from Tetralogy of Fallot, a congenital disease usually found in humans.

Six-month-old Milo was in a critical condition in University of Cape Town's animal laboratory following the operation.
