British punters were placing bets yesterday on the Liberal Democrats replacing the Tories as the main opposition party in five years time.
Coral Eurobet says it initially quoted odds of 16-1 against Liberal Democrats winning more seats than the Tories at the next election. But in response to a "flood of inquiries" from Liberal Democrat supporters whose party remains steady in opinion polls, they have halved the odds to 8-1.
