Racing: Saturday's meeting at Punchestown is the latest Irish fixture in doubt after the track has been hit by significant rainfall.

Officials at the Co Kildare venue have called an inspection for 8.00am on Friday to assess prospects of the card beating the wet weather.

A press release issued by Cliff Noone of the Irish Turf Club read: "The course at Punchestown is currently unraceable due to waterlogging following 30 millimetres of rain overnight."

Today's scheduled Limerick meeting was called off last night due to waterlogging while conditions look set to be very testing for Sunday's prestigious Pierse Hurdle fixture at Leopardstown.
