The North Mayo coroner, Dr Mickey Loftus, a leading member of Dothain, the campaign against the abuse of alcohol, claimed yesterday that the public house licensing hours are not being adhered to.

"People are aware of this in every town in the country," he said. "My profession as a medical doctor brings me out late at night, even at four o'clock in the morning and I have first hand evidence of the traffic and the hours are not being adhered to," he said.
