Police in Northern Ireland are investigating an armed robbery in Armagh, in which thieves made off with a substantial sum of money.

The robbery took place at a bingo hall in the Dobbin Street area of the town shortly before 11.30 pm yesterday, when three masked men entered the premises. They threatened staff with what is alleged to be a hammer or handgun before leaving with the money.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police in Armagh.
