A group of about 50 parents and children from a Limerick city Gaelscoil picketed the Dáil yesterday, demanding the Government provide a permanent site for their school.

A statement issued by Gaelscoil Sáirséal accused the Department of Education of "unbelievable tardiness" in the acquisition of a site, despite agreeing in 1995 one was necessary.

It alleged that although contracts for a site purchase had been sent to the Chief State Solicitor's office in 2001, "nothing was ever done and the site was lost".
