More than 140 parents, children and supporters marched on the Navan Road, Dublin, yesterday evening to highlight their concern at the lack of healthcare services offered to children in St Vincent's Education Centre.

The centre on the Navan Road cares for 31 children with severe mental disabilities. Parents are worried at the recent loss of nursing staff and feel that the centre is moving away from health-based care to education-based care.

Mr Shay Feehily of the parents' support group said the children's primary need was for healthcare.
