Protestant demonstrators have blockaded the gates of a school to prevent two Catholic kitchen workers from taking up employment. Placard-waving parents at the state-controlled Aghadrumsee primary school in Co Fermanagh are objecting to the women taking over from two Protestant cooks who have recently retired.

Officials from the Western Education and Library Board are due to meet the school's governors today in an attempt to resolve the dispute.
