Three prisoners charged in connection with a serious assault on a prison officer were returned for trial to the next Circuit Court session.
Paul Dixon (33), Brendan House, Brendan Road, Dublin; Gerard Longworth (18), Coole Park, Bohermore, Galway , and John Paul Scullion (19), Cronan Lawn, Shannon, Co Clare, are charged with causing serious harm to Mr Alan Kavanagh (40), at Limerick Prison on January 5th. An earlier hearing was told that the prison officer received 65 stitches.
