Huntsville - A black prisoner, Odell Barnes (31), was executed by lethal injection early today at a prison in Huntsville, Texas. He was found guilty in 1991 of the murder of his girlfriend.
Texas governor Mr George W. Bush yesterday refused to grant Barnes a 30-day stay of execution. Barnes pleaded innocence to the killing right to the end.
