Racing:Prince De Beauchene enhanced his John Smith's Grand National claims with a dominant victory in the At The Races Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse. The Willie Mullins-trained nine-year-old jumped crisply for Paul Townend, before taking the lead two out.

By contrast to most of his labouring rivals, the Graham Wylie-owned gelding (11-10 favourite) looked in supreme control, easing six lengths clear of the staying-on Black Apalachi. Roi Du Mee finished third.

Mullins said: “He showed a nice bit of improvement from Navan and I’d imagine he will go on to Aintree now for the National. He’ll like the better ground judging by the size of his feet. He did everything nicely and I hope there will be more improvement to come from him.”
