The ESB is investigating the cause of a power cut which affected 4,000 homes in west Dublin last night and caused serious traffic delays. A large part of Castleknock and some areas in Blanchardstown were without power for up to two hours after a 10,000-volt underground cable short-circuited at about 6 p.m., the ESB said.
