Ports around the country are to receive a €13 million investment under the National Development Plan, the Government has announced.
Most of the investment - €4.4 million - will go to Waterford port, while Drogheda port has been allocated just under €0.5 million for dredging works.
Ports at Dublin, Cork, Galway and Dundalk will get just over €8 million to finish existing projects.
The Minister for the Marine, Mr Dermot Ahern, said the investment "would ensure improved competitiveness and better services for port users".
