New Dublin North West TD Noel Rock (28) defied a poor Government showing in getting elected, and won a seat in a constituency that has not had a Fine Gael TD for 20 years. Fine Gael's youngest Dublin city councillor, he represents the Ballymun area, where he grew up. Educated locally at Our Lady of Victories and St Aidan's schools, he later attended DCU. His work experience included an internship in the US with former Senator Hillary Clinton. A press assistant for a time in Brussels, he subsequently worked in a start-up cloud computing company. In 2013, he was appointed as a peace commissioner for Glasnevin and Drumcondra. He lives in Glasnevin with his partner. The new TD is a keen soccer player and supporter.
