Colm Brophy is the leader of the Fine Gael group on South Dublin County Council. He has been on the council since 2008, having been co-opted. He previously stood unsuccessfully in the 2011 general election in Dublin South Central. He was also director of elections in the successful campaigns to the European Parliament of Gay Mitchell in 2004 and of Mary Banotti before him. He is a small business owner.
