BSE compensation payments to farmers have varied from £13,000 to £275,000, the Minister for Agriculture revealed. In a written reply to Ms Kathleen Lynch (DL, Cork North Central) he said that certain aspects of two cases had given rise to concern and they had been forwarded to the Garda for further investigation. No payments had been made in those cases so far.
