A new opinion poll shows an apparent increase in support for the Labour Party and declines for Sinn Féin and Independents.

The Millward Brown poll, carried out for the Sunday Independent, surveyed almost 1,000 people over a ten-day period up to last Thursday.

When undecideds are excluded, Fine Gael is the most popular party with 25 per cent support, unchanged since the last comparable poll in February.

The Labour Party is up two points to 8 per cent. The Coalition parties have a combined 33 per cent level of support.

Opposition parties and Independents have failed to make gains, according to the poll.

Fianna Fáil is unchanged on 19 per cent, Sinn Féin is down two points at 24 per cent with Independents and others down one point to 23 per cent.
